Rectangle Battle pays homage to old shooting games from the 70s. The rather limited techniques that were available at that time forced developers to use minimalistic graphics to visualize a game world and its story. Today those games may not look all too fancy when you are used to modern AAA-titles with high-end graphics and moving cameras creating a world almost looking like ours, however they are masterpieces in their own right.
