DC-X is a boot disc for the Sega Dreamcast, used as a method of circumventing the system's default region encoding and allowing it to play imported games. Though many discs have this functionality (it is also possible to burn your own onto CD-Rs), the DC-X is perhaps the most common, selling primarily in Europe - the region with the most to gain from importing video games.
